The Venue

Founded in 1994, The Glasgow Climbing Centre was one of the first dedicated indoor climbing gyms in Scotland.

 

ย Today it is the largest indoor roped climbingย 

centre in the West of Scotland and the preferred training facility for many new and experienced climbers.

 

The centre has 58 panels with a range of Lead climbing, top rope and 13 autobelays with grades typically ranging from F3-F8a.

We also have a bouldering area with problems typically ranging from font 4-7b.

โš ๏ธ Incoming reset for the white auto-belay wall. โš  โš ๏ธ Incoming reset for the white auto-belay wall. โš ๏ธ Weโ€™re once again hosting the @gb_climbing Ice Team Trials on Sunday 30th August ๐ŸงŠโ›๏ธ To get the wall ready, the white auto-belay wall will be closed from ๐…๐ซ๐ข๐๐š๐ฒ ๐ญ๐ก๐ซ๐จ๐ฎ๐ ๐ก ๐’๐ฎ๐ง๐๐š๐ฒ while we strip, set and host the event. ๐Ÿ”ง Monday 31st: Routesetting will take place in the morning as normal, with the wall reopening in the afternoon with plenty of fresh routes ready to climb that evening. ๐Ÿ”ฉ Tuesday 1st: Weโ€™ll fill in the remaining panels in the morning, with the full reset planned to be complete and open from Tuesday afternoon. ๐“๐ก๐ž ๐ซ๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐œ๐ฅ๐ข๐ฆ๐›๐ข๐ง๐  ๐œ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ซ๐ž ๐š๐ง๐ ๐œ๐š๐Ÿ๐ž ๐ฐ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐ซ๐ž๐ฆ๐š๐ข๐ง ๐จ๐ฉ๐ž๐ง ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ฎ๐ง๐š๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐ž๐œ๐ญ๐ž๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ซ๐จ๐ฎ๐ ๐ก๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ. We want you!ย  We are looking for climbers aged 10-17 to Join our Performance Squad. You should have been climbing for a while and know how to tie and belay. Lead belaying it is not a requirement, but it will be taken into account (specially for the older ones). There is not grade requirement. If you want to train, have fun and get better, we want you!ย  There is no requirement to compete. There is many ways to perform that arenโ€™t competitions! However, our training will be based around them to better support those who want.ย ย  This is a training group, so we would expect regular commitment to the classes (once a week). There are a number of different classes. If you are successful in the selection process, then we will assign you the class that we think it suits you best.ย  #climbing #squad #performance #glasgow

Climbing real rock, testing themselves on the abseil and, of course, enjoying the liquid sunshine โ˜”๏ธ๐ŸŒž โ˜”๏ธ As part of their development we find very important to show them what else is out there๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿž๐ŸŒณ. Comps are great, training on plastic so much fun๐Ÿคธโ€โ™€๏ธ! Top it up with an outdoor crag and it is the perfect combination to use all the skills they have been learning indoors!
