On Saturday 26th October Glasgow Climbing Centre celebrated 30 years!! Thank you to everyone who came along and for everyone’s ongoing support. Here’s to the next 30 years!

As part of our 30th birthday celebrations tomorrow

As part of our 30th birthday celebrations tomorrow, we've got something fun for the youths...and big kids 😉!

Hidden around the gym is a scavenger hunt. There are cards up on some of the routes, each card will tell you which route to climb next.

There is also a letter on each card, record these.

At the end decode the letters to work out the Answer for the Scavenger Hunt.

Give this answer to reception to collect a PRIZE!!!

Last week we said goodbye to a familiar face of the Glasgow Climbing community.

Alfie has been a regular at both GCC and TCA from 2012 until the very end. One of the best dogs around, always brightening up people’s days, he will be really missed by both customers and staff.

Alfie was a perfect example of fantastic work of the Dogs Trust.
The Dogs Trust are a charity that are committed to looking after and rehoming dogs that would otherwise have a tough life.

⁣Our Kids Classes Are Changing: Here’s What You Need to Know⠀

As of today, we are introducing a more streamlined system that we believe will help all our young climbers progress and learn more effectively.⠀
⠀
We’re confident this will create a more climbing-focused experience that will be easier and more enjoyable to follow.⠀
⠀
⠀
So how does this affect you? ⠀
⠀
The booking process remains exactly the same, but the class names have changed.⠀
⠀
- Kids Introduction (7+) is for first-time climbers or those who were previously in our Edge 1 class. Once we’ve taught the basic skills, such as tying in and belaying with supervision, you’ll graduate to the next level.⠀
⠀
- Edge Club (7+) is for those who were previously in Edge 2 and 3. This is our regular climbers' club, where the NICAS scheme can be offered to those interested in following the program. Otherwise, you can simply come along and climb.⠀
⠀
- Youth Squad (10+) is a new space for young climbers who want to continue climbing. Entry is based on a skills assessment by a certified member of staff.⠀
⠀
- Junior Lead (12+) is for those who were previously in NICAS 4-5. This class is for young climbers who have become proficient in belaying and rope skills. Typically, a coach will recommend you for this class when you're ready to progress to lead climbing after completing Edge Club.⠀
⠀
- Youth Social (13+) is a social club for teenage climbers. NICAS can be delivered here, or you can simply attend for fun. The level of commitment is entirely up to you. If you previously booked the Climbatize class, this is the one for you.
